Code of Conduct

Our Commitment to You

At Equine Wellness and Performance of Central Florida, our mission is to provide exceptional veterinary care while fostering a culture of compassion, professionalism, and mutual respect. We believe that the best outcomes for our patients are achieved through a collaborative partnership between our veterinary team and our clients.

Just as we are committed to treating every client and every horse with respect, empathy, and professionalism, we ask the same courtesy be extended to every member of our team.

Our veterinarians and support staff are dedicated professionals who work hard to provide the highest standard of equine care, often under demanding and emotionally challenging circumstances. Maintaining a respectful and safe work environment allows us to focus on what matters most—providing outstanding care for your horse.

Our Expectations

We expect all interactions with our team, whether in person, by telephone, email, text message, or social media, to remain respectful and professional.

The following behaviors are not acceptable and may result in the immediate termination of the veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) and refusal of future services:

  • Verbal abuse, yelling, intimidation, or aggressive behavior toward any member of our team.

  • Threats of physical harm, damage to property, or attempts to intimidate staff.

  • Discriminatory, harassing, or demeaning comments related to race, gender, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, or personal characteristics.

  • Profanity, vulgar language directed toward our team, or abusive communications.

  • Personal insults, bullying, or harassment in any form.

  • False or malicious accusations intended to intimidate or manipulate our staff.

  • Unrealistic demands that disregard our medical judgment, scheduling limitations, or availability, particularly during emergency situations.

  • Recording or photographing team members without their knowledge or permission.

  • Disruptive behavior that interferes with our ability to safely care for patients or serve other clients.

  • Slanderous online behavior or online bullying

Medical Decision-Making

Our recommendations are always made with your horse's health, welfare, and best interests as our highest priority. We understand that every client has unique goals, financial considerations, and circumstances, and we are committed to discussing appropriate options whenever possible.

We welcome questions, second opinions, and respectful discussions regarding your horse's care. Open communication is an important part of our partnership.

Emergency Care

Emergency situations are often stressful and emotionally charged. We understand the anxiety that accompanies caring for an ill or injured horse and will always do our best to communicate clearly and compassionately.

However, abusive or threatening behavior toward our team will not be tolerated, regardless of the circumstances.

Our Commitment to Our Team

Providing exceptional veterinary care begins with supporting the people who deliver it. We are committed to maintaining a workplace where our veterinarians and staff feel safe, respected, and empowered to provide the highest quality medical care possible.

When necessary, Equine Wellness and Performance of Central Florida reserves the right to discontinue services or terminate the veterinarian-client-patient relationship when a client's behavior compromises the safety, wellbeing, or professionalism of our team.

We sincerely appreciate the trust our clients place in us and value the respectful relationships we have built throughout our community. Thank you for partnering with us in creating a positive environment where we can continue to provide exceptional care for every horse entrusted to us.
